Does art speak? Is there a language that can be used to ‚read’ art? Of course, there is, and it is a very rich, intricate, and intimate dialect, at our service!
When I plan classes to prepare my DP2 English B students for their individual oral, I always do this activity to give the 3-4 student presentation a twist, namely replace the fragment of a set book with a piece of art- painting, drawing, picture.
The students are to prepare their ‘engage with the text presentation’ based on a piece of art they choose or are given, just like in the lesson plan I created.
Alternatively, you can always try to turn for AI to help you generate images/ art that you would like your students to explore, yet don’t want to waste time searching for:) My recommendations will be, for example, Nightcafe or Neutral love, where the picture accompanying this post comes from (I wrote ‘individual presentation’ as the prompt:)
Enjoy!
Just a side note, hope you don’t mind......
If you like my content, maybe you would like to support me and buy me coffee?
Also, you might want to check other materials I create for the English Bilingual Secondary Classes (C1) - I am sure some of them will be useful for the English B HL classes, for example BritSpeak or OpenBookCouples.
